Evaluation question 6

Evaluation Question 5

Evaluation question 4

question 4:

in our group we decided to make the target audience would be teenagers. But mainly our film is aimed at young males aged 16-40 so we have a bigger target audience. we was shooting in an urban area to set the feeling of our film, and appeal to our target audience.

Our film has lots of different shots and contains suspension

and tension in our chase scene.  our film gets straight into the action here, as we done it from the research we carried our on surveyMonkey. We had to make it not to obvious what was going on in our thriller so it would make our watchers think what was going to happen after our film finishes, we done this by quick shots , fast music and suspension. We didn't know how to make our film appeal to the older people, so we decided we had to add in sophistication to this film, this would also leave the older watchers thinking what was happening and what was going to happen next.

question 3 evaulation

Question 3:

I think that the type of institution that might distribute our type of film would be more of an independent type of film studio. a more smaller showing on tv such as the BBC, more people would see our type of film on youtube rather than anywhere else.  Also a good way of distributing our film would be by social networking sites such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. This would be a good way of letting people know about our film as most young people use these sights and the Internet and our target audience is the younger generation. Further more we are using blogger to do our coursework so this is another way to get our film out.

Evaluation Question 1

Question 1:

In our film for our media we have made a thriller beginning, someone is being chased in a block of flats, we have shown stereotypical thoughts about young people as we are using young actors in our film. people usually have the idea that all young adults are bad people and out to hurt you. we portrayed this view by dressing out actors in the typical clothes for a young boy on a estate, which is a tracksuit and jackets. we made a story board to help us figure out how to make our film as unique as possible, as we didn't want it too look like any other films. we used lots of shots such as fast shots, sling shots, confrontation black out, establishing shots, black out jump an more.

In our thriller 'blind fire' we used shock to appeal to our target audience, we done this by having the beginning as a chase scene. this is also keeping up the suspense of what is going to happen next. In our thriller starting we have a protagonist and an antagonist, this is very clear who is who throughout the film, as the antagonist is chasing the protagonist. we kept up the suspense by using fast and quick edited shots. looking back to films we have watched in the past, Alfred Hitchcock always has a protagonist and an antagonist, in the film 'north by north west' there is a antagonist who is the man trying to kill protagonist. we also have a antagonist who is chasing and trying to kill our protagonist.

we had to keep the key point of suspense throughout our film we done this by the characters as many other films us the propps to build suspense. we wanted to make our thriller different. as it isnt clear what is happening in our film this builds suspense as we don't know what is going to happen next, this also creates an image for whoever is watching.

Focus Group Evaluation

Focus Group Evaluation

A big way we got ideas for our thriller beginning we made a focus group where we explained out 3 ideas to another group of people and then asked what they thought about them. We got back very helpful comments and they helped us decide what we needed to changed on our opening. The other group told us that they liked our first idea the most but we had to shoot it in a certain way to make it look good and entertaining. We will take all of the points given by the other group when filming to make our film the best we can.

Titles

Titles

All films have different styles when doing their titles and opening credits. There are different styles when different genres of films are being made. The colour's, Fonts and music determines what sort of genre of film it is.

Seven

As you can see the colours used for the back grounds and all dark and the writing is very a very bland white colour. The font used is a messy writing, a sort of child's handwriting, the and writing is flickering on and off of the screen when the credits are changing. The music that is used is creating a scared atmosphere and this is due to the type of genre the film is.

In The Cut

The music in the opening of 'Panic Room' is classical music, which is very slow and low key. The shots are quick and they also use panning shots where the credits are on the side of high rise buildings in New York City. All the colours are very bland but the font of the credits was very large and in a silverish colour.

Brick

Brick includes camera shots that are close ups, flash backs and a dissolve. The editing shots include slow cuts and reverse shots. there is no and non diagetic sounds. The film was only shot in 20 days but a lot of planning was done before filming.

Momento

Momento included conventions such as dramatic music, a red herring, flash backs, an antagonist, low key lighting and guns. They included shots like mid-long shots and reverse shots. There was fast editing and quick cuts. There was dark scary music during the shots. This is not filmed in chronological order and could be hard for some people to understand.

The Italian Job

The Italian Job includes a literal cliff hanger after robbing blocks of gold and escaping. This film is a 1969 British film. We are left at the end of the film with a literal cliff hanger where the coach is tipping over the edge of a cliff they was driving along. We are left not knowing what is going to happen next as the camera finishes panning away from the coach. This is all because they uploaded the coach with gold. Driving along the Alps along a mountain road but the coach ends up skidding and is hanging off the edge.

Our Proposal

Proposal
Prepared by
Rosie, Kyle & Billy

In our Thriller we will film an exctiting starting to a thriller movie. This starting will make the viewers want to watch the rest of the film to see what is going on. We will include a variety of different shots, such as fast pased shots and pan shots over the roof tops of Dagenham. Our Thriller will play on the viewers mind as you wont actually see what is happeing on the screen there will just be voices and music over our shots...this will be better and more exciting fot the viewer as they would usually create their own image in their heads, these images are usually worse than what is happening on the screen... Our thriller will leave the viewers wondering what will happen next!

Hitchcocks Thrillers

Hitchcock said that 'the only way to get rid of my fears is to make films about them' so he often put his fears into the films he made to sort of overcome being scared of them. Hitchcock also said that 'if it's a good movie, the sound could go off but the audience would still have a perfectly clear idea of what is going on' so he always made his films more visual, so the viewers would still know what is happening in the film if there was no sound too this.

'Always make the audience suffer as much as possible' Hitchcock always made his movies as psychologocal as possible to make the audience as psychologically scared as possible by making them create an image in their head what is going to happen. The human mind always expects the worst naturally.
